At Howard Junior we run a scheme called Howards Highflyer Institute which rewards pupils for engaging in academic and sporting activities outside of school hours. Parents complete a form each term, if they wish for their child to participate, detailing what clubs and activities they engage in and how many hours per week they do. Within school, we log these hours, and at the end of the year we hold a celebratory graduation ceremony, complete with caps and gowns for all pupils who have earned enough hours to earn a certificate. The more hours they complete, the higher the level of certificate they earn. The graduation ceremony offers a wonderful way to celebrate these pupils and their interests across a wide range of activities. 

In July 2024, we had three students graduate with the highest honours in the scheme, showing true ambition and a great work ethic. We would love to see even more of our students exceeding their own expectations and learning new skills through activities they enjoy outside of school.
