Spring 1 - Week 3 Learning

What an amazing week of learning we've had in Class Lewis. The children enjoyed their PSHE lesson on exploring different jobs and salaries. We started the lesson with job charades, which was great fun!

Ranking professions from the most - least important and the salaries earned from them.

We carried on our West African Art by choosing the insect we want to include on our Mali headdresses. We sketched the insect and annotated the colours and shapes found in the insects. Some beautiful sketches!

From Africa to Australia, we coloured in our maps to show the population density of each city and the industry in the country.

Australia to Spain, we looked at the Spanish alphabet, vowels and colours.

In Science, we carried on our understanding of life cycles by studying the life cycle of an insect and bird. We learnt the importance of the stages of incubation and larvae.

This week we revisited multiplication. Over the past three days, we have consolidated our understanding of multiplying a 3-digit number by a 2-digit number.  Some great presentations in our books!

In English, we looked at images related to the Battle of Trafalgar and used dictionaries and thesauruses to up-level synonyms. We then created our own journalistic phrases ready to write our newspaper report!
