Week 3 of the Autumn term

Maths - we have continued to practice the column method of addition and subtraction. We have been subtracting 3-digit numbers away from a 3 digit number exchanging across either a 10 or a 100. We have been using place value counters and number lines to help support our learning.

English- Sentence stacking. We have continued to write some great sentences about pangolins using different features, such as subheadings, a glossary and using technical vocabulary.

D.T- We were getting very hands on and practising our cooking skills! Year 3 used a peeler to peel carrots and potatoes and always get their hands stuck in by practising the rubbing method for our crumble topping.

History-  In History we learnt about the Ancient Greek God and Goddesses.  The year 3 children really enjoyed researching about Zeus, Athena, Hades, Hera or Poseidon and what their realms and personalities were in Greek mythology.

Geography- We learnt about the climate in Mediterranean Europe. We focussed on Italy and defined what a climate is and looked at a climate graph to see what the temperature and rainfall were like all year round.

Science- We learnt about fish, mammals and amphibians and how we can classify each type of animal.

Spanish-We learnt the Spanish phonetic alphabet.

PE- We have been playing dodgeball with Mr Watson (ICS).
