5E's week 15/01/24 to 19/01/24!

In Science, we looked at the life cycle of a bumblebee and a cuckoo bird.
The children enjoyed comparing the two, and finding out how savage nature can be to one another!

In PSHE, the class had the challenge of ranking common jobs in the UK from most important to least important. They discussed this on tables, and then wrote their own personal view of each job in their book. After that, they then had the task of trying to match salaries of those jobs - there were some very interesting answers!

This week in Maths, 5E have returned to multiplication and division to use the column method to multiply 4 digit numbers by a 1 digit number, and then multiplying a 3 digit number by a 2 digit number.

In English, we have been practising our use of inverted commas (speech marks) and remembering our golden rules of how to use them in our writing.

In Art, the class practised their sketching skills and drew an insect of their choosing. This is all leading up to their final art project, which is to create a 3D insect model based on our Western Africa topic.

Finally, 5E had another visit to St James' Pool to improve their swimming skills.
Every child continues to work hard and listen carefully, and they all absolutely loved it!
