Another jam-packed and fun-filled week in class Lewis. This week we have enjoyed celebrating Red Nose Day and taking part in lots of different activities, such as decorating the best red nose, the best superhero mask, guessing how many sweets are in the sweet jar and riding the Go-Karts to raise money for Comic Relief! Alongside these activities, we also took part in some Red Nose Day-themed Maths challenge questions and also created some double-page spreads! Thank you parents again for your support and for some very red costumes!

In Maths, we have continued our topic of Decimals. We have found thousandths as both fractions and decimals.

In English, we have completed our final week of PiXL therapies by revisiting our recent SPaG assessment. This week we have used commas to separate clauses, ensured our sentences are grammatically correct and sustained a tense throughout a piece of writing.

As it was Science week, we planned and undertook an investigation into air resistance. We predicted if the surface area would have an effect on air resistance, wrote out our method, created our results table and made a small, medium and large parachute. We then went on top of the pirate ship and timed how quickly the parachutes would fall. Some great work scientifically from Year 5!

In RE, we continued our learning of Christianity. We were split into two groups and took the lens of Jesus and Judas through Judas' betrayal of Jesus. We discussed how they would be feeling and if this was part of God's plan.

In PSHE, we learnt the recovery position and why it is so important. We then worked in groups to answer a different medical scenario and the importance of keeping calm when doing so.

In Spellings, we focused this week on prefixes and created our own dominoes to match prefixes with root words!

Alongside our hard work, we have also found time to celebrate our achievements. Well done to this week's Golden Pupil for overcoming his fear of water and gaining confidence both in the pool and his ability to complete work in school. We're very proud of you!

Well done to our Star of the Week. This pupil has worked hard this week preserving with his work and completing it to a high standard. We're very proud of you - keep this up!

Well done to this week's double whammy ReadTheory winner for earning the most knowledge points and taking the most quizzes.

Another big well done to this week's times table winners for achieving full marks on their times tables. Very proud of you!

Well done to Queen Lucy for another victory and earning 503 Dojos to become this week's Narnia Dojo Champions!

A special award and prestigious fidget spinner to this pupil for always helping me and helping to organise the classroom. Thank you!

Finally, not only have we won the behaviour cup two weeks in a row, we also won a whole class, Goblet of Writing for our writing on Narnia. Each child wrote neatly, came up with amazing ideas and enjoyed their writing. We also have a new book for our class now. An amazing achievement. I'm very proud of the progress you've all made with your writing this year!
