We've been busy builders this week in Year 6 - creating our 'cams' mechanisms. We look forward to showing off the completed product.
We have continued to work together and develop our knowledge in a number of subjects.
A great start back to Year 6 after the half-term break. We have started work on our new topics, including:
Maths - Fractions
Science - Classification of Living Things
History - The Suffragetes
Geography - North America
PE - Tag Rugby
and as seen in the picture above and more below, we are creating newspaper reports on the story of Goldilocks, we even attended the scene of the crime and conducted witness interviews!
In Design and Technology we began researching 'cams toys' and looked at the different components for them.
This week, we have continued to work on our stories in English - all the while practising our handwriting to ensure amazing presentation and clear writing.
This week we have been busy planning our own stories based on the 'Firework-Maker's Daughter'.
We have also enjoyed painting in Art and enhancing our map skills in Geography.
It's been a wonderful start to the year in Year 6, with a lot of work being put in by the pupils during September and lots of progress being made. This blog post looks at highlights across the first month, before we post weekly.
