Tech-minded students in King’s Lynn celebrate new school year with iPad graduation

Children at Howard Junior School, in King’s Lynn, enjoyed an iPad graduation this week, which saw 60 pupils given one of the gadgets, with apps tailored to them, for the four years of their studies.

The youngsters then had to say a pledge to digital learning, which is a key focus at the school.

Headteacher Gregory Hill said using technology had improved outcomes, behaviour and pupil enjoyment at school.

“Investing in the best technology early on transforms their learning,” he said. “Children want to learn digitally and our approach to it really is revolutionary.

“We have some of the best digital facilities in the region and it’s something we would love to see the rest of Norfolk getting on board with.

“Traditional skills are still important, but so are digital areas that are needed in jobs.”
