King’s Lynn school hails top attenders

Messages about the importance of good attendance have certainly been understood by pupils of the Howard Junior School in Gaywood.

That’s because dozens of them have received certificates in recognition of their full attendance throughout the autumn term.

Headteacher Gregory Hill, pictured back, said the school, which will re-open as an academy today after the Christmas break, had enjoyed another successful year, which included the launch of a fundraising video to support the endangered Adelle penguins that was inspired by the John Lewis department store chain’s Christmas advertising campaign.

He added: “Attendance has been fantastic and our figures are through the roof.”

The certificates, along with awards to youngsters who had shown impeccable manners during the term, were presented at the school’s end of term prize giving event by Lynn News events manager Mark Stanford.
