BeWilderwood author big hit with pupilsYOUNGSTERS at Howard Junior School in Gaywood school were “very lucky” to have a rare visit from popular author Tom Blofeld, who wrote the best-selling children’s books, BeWilderwood.

During the visit he spoke to 140 pupils about his books, writing skills and the new BeWilderwood adventure centre that he would like to build in the north of England.

The day was organised by teacher Sophie Cockcroft and took place last month.

As well as signing books for the pupils, the author used character puppets, made by the children, to tell one of his stories.

Headteacher Greg Hill said: “Tom Blofeld has had a huge impact on literacy standards so the day was certainly successful.”
