Remote Learning

"Hello, I’m the Howard Junior School Parent Support Advisor (PSA). Many of you already know me from my role as a TA/Cover Supervisor. If you need any advice or support, contact me and I will do my best to help you."

Additional support for pupils with SEND

We recognise that some pupils, for example some pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), may not be able to access remote education without support from adults at home. We acknowledge the difficulties this may place on families, and we will work with parents and carers to support those pupils in the following ways:
All children with an EHCP have been invited to attend school on site. However our EHCP pupils have chosen to stay at home and therefore steps will be taken to ensure that we, where possible, provide the provision set out in their plan.
The SENCo will be in regular contact with families of children with EHCPs and will be available to be contacted, via the office, for other children on the SEND register.
For those children with SEND accessing from home, class teachers will ensure that they continue to set work appropriate for the child to meet their individual needs – this will be provided through their daily Showbie tasks.
All pupils with SEN will have the opportunity to read with their teaching assistant twice a week.
Contact with outside agencies will continue remotely and the SENCo will continue to co-ordinate this.

At Howard, we value the impact that remote learning can have on pupil progress and so we provide access to several excellent resources to aid our pupils with their learning. To access these, please click on the images below and log in using the corresponding details that you have been given.
