Many pages in library castleA CASTLE-style library complete with a dragon, turrets and mood lighting is proving a magnet for young readers at a Gaywood school.

The unique design, which even features stone-textured wallpaper, has fired the imaginations of Howard Junior School pupils. Hannah Ess said: “The new library is awesome,” Demie Goldsmith said: “It’s the best castle library ever. It also has lots of books.”

Headteacher Gregory Hill said: “We decided to move away from pine shelves and create an inspiring environment where children really want to go. The library has also been completely restocked with new books.”

It has even attracted the attention of top Australian children’s author Morris Gleitzman, who has agreed to pay a visit during a rare trip to the UK in March.

The castle was designed and made by Aldney Services Ltd, of Hamburg Way, North Lynn Industrial Estate.
